Most importantly, Nkhanga held a very important health post in our area and was a centre pivot for wellness in the surrounding areas. The prologue almost brings me to tears when I see myself in the young Mwizenge. Botswana Pledges to Support ICH Safeguarding

Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) is the software of all culture. For this reason, it is of extreme importance to place emphasis on ICH before you can talk about any culture. We should realise that by paying close attention to ICH and showing ICH respect, we stand a high chance to understand our world better and ultimately have more meaningful development.   I wish to congratulate the people of Botswana on their successfully hosting the 18 th  Session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (4-9December 2023 in Kasane). What has stood out to me is the Botswana’s respect for ICH exhibited through the Republican President’s support of ICH activities. The President was the Special Guest at the Official Opening of the Session and pledged to continue supporting ICH and other initiatives meant for cultural promotion in the country.
